The BECC was founded on Feb. 20, 1993, with the approval of the Beijing Civil Administration. Members consist of Beijing's electronics firms, associations and communities. The Chamber is a multi-departmental, volunteer and non-profit based organization, which currently has more than 300 members.
The aim of the BECC is to promote and encourage the constant development of Beijing's electronics sector; promote both domestic and overseas trade; strengthen the economic and financial underpinnings of each member; enlarge the social influence of the Chamber; protect the legal rights of each member; and cultivate a sound market environment for the operation of Beijing's electronics industry.
The main task of the BECC is to be a bridge between Chamber members and the Government, in order to protect the legal rights of members; to reflect the ideas and requirements of chamber members; to transfer to the Government the members' principles and policy ideas; to assist state departments to instruct, coordinate and provide consulting services for member enterprises; and to supervise members to carry out adopted state principles and policy correctly.
