The most recent addition to Beijing’s burger scene is the American West Coast fast food joint Fat Burger. The restaurant looks and feels very much like any other fast-food joint, but the major difference is evident in the price and quality. Regular burgers will set you back 40 RMB and a choice of skinny or fat fries are available to accompany the beef patty. Despite its generic fast-food joint feel, the quality of the burgers is definitely in a different league to other major fast-food chains; beef is imported from Australia and grounded freshly every day, and the pickles are imported from the US. And if one patty isn’t enough to cure the munchies, you can order a double and triple burger for 60 and 80 RMB respectively.

This place does pretty decent burgers (that are indeed fat) at a not-too expensive price. Good coffee shop next door and Western news channels make the experience nicer. A hang out for all the close by emissaries and diplomats. Thumbs up from me!
