Catholic missionaries made their way to this village (located about 5 km southwest of Pingyin county) in 1604. Today, it is one of the three most important places in China for Catholicism. Mass is held twice daily, at 4am and 8pm. The bell tower rises to over 60m, and is a pretty sight in an idyllic setting. Nearby St. Mary's Hill has a gothic-style hall at its summit, rebuilt in 1989. The church has a talented choir.
I think I have a photo for you. on my blog
I think that's the church. It's tucked away.
