Pottery production in Yinxing has been going on for over 7 thousand years and it is famous all over China for the quality of its produce, earning it the nickname ''the Teapot Center of the World". The Yixing Ceramics Museum was opened to provide an exhibition space where the history of Yinxing ceramics is explored and over 30,000 pieces are displayed.
