Established in October 2003, the Jilin Provincial Museum was built to accommodate the collections of both the original Jilin Museum and the Jilin Museum of Contemporary and Modern History. It has about 100,000 exhibits at present displaying artifacts from remote antiquity to modern times, the most characteristic of which are collections of Chinese calligraphy and paintings from various dynasties, and the collections of artifacts representing Gaogouli, Bohai and Manchu peoples from the northeast frontier in ancient China.
Good morning, I am writing from Namibia in Africa. I have spent a month at the Jilin University in 2004. My impressions about the beautiful city of Changchun and its people have changed my view about China. Since 2004, I am working tirelessly to to help my people understand China in a positive light. Therefore, I have since enrolled for MPhil in Chinese studies with the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David in the UK and have set up a private research centre which consist of Library, Museum and China-Namibia Club all tailored to promote Chinese culture and help Chinese nationals in Namibia to learn more about African cultures. I am writing to request an opportunity for a collaboration to set-up a museum in Namibia to promote China-African friendship and goodwill. I would like to have contact details of the relevant person, perhaps the Director of the Jilin Museum, to discuss my project in detail.
Xie-xie.
